Sally
and all of her school friends were having a sleepover at Sally’s house.
Each of them were going around a circle and sharing ideas on activities
they should do. One of the girls suggested and said, “Let’s play hide
and seek!” All the girls shook their heads in disgust. Sally said “Let’s
prank call people!” The girls all looked at each other with mischievous
smiles of approval. Sally ran and got her cellphone. Sally dialed her
neighbor’s number who she had known since she was a child.
Sally dialed 619-800-784 it rang 4 times until an elderly lady with a
raspy voice picked up. “Hello?” the old lady said “Can I help you?”
sounding tired and groggy . The girls giggled at each other.Trying to
be funny Sally blurted out “ Hello, this is Sally I need your help now
there is a flood in my house!” The old woman was confused but before she
could respond Sally had hung up and the old lady ignored knowing that
it was a silly prank. All the girls laughed hysterically.
Sally
called many times this time with her friends who were also going along
with the lie. Finally on the fourth call The old lady yelled at the
girls she said, “ Girls! I will call your parents if you dont quit it!”
“ Stop making up lies and go to bed.” The girl then stopped calling the
old lady. Later that night the girls were getting ready for bed and
went up to brush their teeth. Sally turned the faucet on and started
brushing her teeth. Her mom called from below and said, “Sally, clean up
your mess down her.” Sally put her tooth brush down and ran down stairs
to help clean up with her mom leaving the faucet running.
Sally’s friends just went into their sleeping bags and started to fall
asleep. Sally’s parents went to the store to buy a vacuum from all the
food stuck in the carpet. Sally came up after to go to bed where her
friends were. Sally came to see a the whole top floor was flooded in
water from the faucet she had left running for a long period of time.
Sally woke all her friends up and called her parents. They did not
answer. Sally started to freak out and had no other choice but to call
her neighbor. Sally called and said, “Help! This is your neighbor Sally,
there is a big flood in my house and this time I am not kidding!” The
old woman immediately hung up still thinking this was one of the silly
pranks. Sally tried to clean the water and was not able to clean
everything. By the time her parents came home she told her parents
everything that had happened about the prank call and how the neighbor
would not believe her. The parents told Sally to never lie or prank call
again and grounded her for a week.
